What is a Barrier?

A barrier is the main reason currently preventing or delaying a Not Booked treatment from going ahead.

The barriers are Cost, Time, Fear, No Urgency, Considering and Declined. A barrier is separate from the treatment’s status and from its follow-up date.

Good to know

You normally change the barrier on the treatment plan itself, not inside Log Action. Choosing Declined as the Treatment Outcome in Log Action sets the barrier to Declined automatically.
Barrier changes appear in the treatment plan’s History.

Which Barrier should I choose?
Choose the barrier that best describes the main reason the treatment isn’t going ahead right now.
What is the difference between a treatment status and a follow-up?
A treatment status tells you where the treatment currently stands. A follow-up tells the team when that treatment needs attention again.
What does Treatment Outcome mean?
Treatment Outcome records where the treatment stands after the interaction.
What does Log Action do?
Log Action records a contact with a patient about a treatment plan, and what should happen next.
